“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”
Ezekiel 22: 30
One particularly critical aspect of missions that students can immediately key into, is PRAYER. You can enter any place on your knees. While governments can restrict or outrightly ban missionaries from their countries, you can go there effortlessly. You don’t need international passport or visa and other documents. Moreover, you don’t have to pay for flights. It’s absolutely free.
That is why we are starting you on the journey to pray for people groups that don’t have access to the gospel. Many of these groups that you pray for, you may never meet them in this world. Some of you may meet one or two of them in your line of duty as doctors, or somewhere only God knows. But one thing is sure: You will meet them in heaven. Imagine entering heaven only to meet someone who walks up to you and thanks you profusely for the prayer you prayed that made him to surrender his life to Jesus! Many surprises are awaiting us in heaven.
Let’s keep at prayer. A few minutes of prayer a day for the lost can change this world. As you pray, know that you are not alone. There are unknown hundreds of thousands of others who are joining you at this prayer. It is global and it is not without impact. May the Lord strengthen you in the place of prayer.
